Privacy Policy

BD6000 ("we", "us", or "our") built PostureLens as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Camera Data

PostureLens uses your device's camera to detect posture in real-time. All camera processing happens entirely on your device. We do not record, store, or transmit any camera footage, images, or video. No camera data ever leaves your device.

Face Landmark Data

PostureLens uses on-device face landmark detection (468 facial reference points) to calculate your craniovertebral angle (CVA). This is required to measure posture from a frontal or oblique camera view.

• What is collected: Numerical coordinates of 468 facial landmarks per frame (no images, no biometric identifiers, no face recognition).
• How it is used: The coordinates are immediately consumed by the on-device CVA calculation algorithm and discarded. Landmarks are never stored.
• Where it is processed: Entirely on your device, by Google's MediaPipe Face Landmarker library running locally. No face data is transmitted to any server or third party.
• Retention: Each frame's face landmark data exists in memory only for the duration of that frame (approximately 33 ms). It is overwritten by the next frame and never persisted to storage.
• Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transmit face landmark data to any third party. The face landmark data never leaves your device.

The app does not use any third-party AI service. All AI / machine-learning inference (posture detection, face landmark detection) runs on local libraries bundled inside the app. No image, video, or landmark data is sent to an external AI service, cloud API, or any external server.

Posture Measurement Data

The app calculates your CVA (Craniovertebral Angle) measurements and stores them locally on your device. This data is used to show your session history and posture trends. This data is not uploaded to any server.

Snapshot Images (Pro feature, optional)

Pro users may optionally have the app save a small set of representative posture snapshots (best/worst moment thumbnails) from their measurement session. These snapshots are stored only on your device. They are not transmitted, shared, or backed up to any server. You can delete them at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app.

Analytics Data

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data, including:

• App opens and screen views
• Session start/stop events
• Feature usage (e.g., subscription screen viewed)
• Device type and OS version

This data is anonymized and does not include any personal information, camera data, or posture measurements.

Subscription Data

Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Google Play or Apple App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.).

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide real-time posture detection and CVA measurement
• To store your session history locally on your device
• To improve the app through anonymized analytics
• To manage your subscription status

3. Data Storage

All posture measurement data is stored locally on your device using an on-device database. If you uninstall the app, this data will be deleted. We do not maintain any cloud backup of your posture data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase Analytics — anonymized usage analytics (event names, screen views, device type, OS version, country). No camera data, no face data, no posture measurements are transmitted. See Firebase Privacy.
• Google MediaPipe (on-device library) — pose estimation and face landmark detection. Bundled inside the app and runs entirely on your device. This is a local library, not an AI service. No data is transmitted to Google, MediaPipe, or any other server.
• Google Play Billing / Apple App Store In-App Purchase — subscription management handled by the platform store. Payment information is processed by the store, not by us.

The app does not communicate with any third-party AI service, cloud-based machine-learning API, or external inference server. All AI / ML processing happens on-device through the bundled MediaPipe library.

5. Children's Privacy

PostureLens is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The only data shared with third parties is anonymized analytics data through Firebase Analytics.

7. Your Rights

Since posture data is stored only on your device, you have full control over it. You can delete all data by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
